Study your MRes Programme in Medical Sciences at Newcastle University
An MRes is a master's level degree in research. It is designed for graduates with a BSc in the life sciences or a related discipline, intercalating and fully qualified MBBS or BDS students and ideal for students who are looking to prepare for PhD studies.
This exciting one-year full-time programme provides broad-based training in contemporary biosciences and medical sciences. It’s a great springboard into a career that involves a working knowledge of scientific research in academia and industry.
Programme elements include professional and key research skills, training in a 24-week research project and three taught modules that you can self-select from over 30 leading and cutting-edge topics.

By the end of the MRes degree you will have:
