Miss Rachael graduated from Prestolee ITT in 2014 and was subsequently employed by Prestolee Primary School. She is currently in her second year of teaching in Reception.
"The minute you step foot into Prestolee, you immediately get a sense that something is different. You're not walking into any primary school, but a community where children and adults alike are encouraged to learn and grow. The course is undeniably tough, but it's worth it - you get out what you put in, but tenfold! My time at Prestolee as a trainee was invaluable and now I'm proud to be a member of staff here. The support network on the programme is fantastic, and best of all you're actually encouraged to play hard (as well as work hard of course!). It's not just a 1-year course but support, memories, skills and experiences that will stay with you for a lifetime.
My fellow alumni and I all secured employment during the programme, and the coaching we received on NQT interviews alone was worth its weight in gold. Being based at Prestolee means I get to see our current trainees regularly, and it is amazing to think I’ve come so far in my career already despite being a trainee myself only 2 years ago.”
