Erasmus+ Joint Master in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Nanoscience and nanotechnology are at the forefront of modern research. The fast growing economy in this area requires experts who have an outstanding knowledge of nanoscience combined with the skills to apply this knowledge to new products.

A multidisciplinary scientific education is crucial to provide industry and research institutes with top quality experts who have a generic background in the different subdisciplines such as electronics, physics, chemistry, material science, biotechnology, and at the same time be experts in one particular field.

The EMMNano Master

This is what is offered in this master program. You will learn the basics of physics, biology, and chemistry on the nanometer scale, supplemented by courses in technology and engineering. Moreover, in the program you will also be able to specialize in a certain area of nanoscience.

The program exists across Europe

EMMNano is a joint program of 120 ECTS (two years) delivered by some of the most prestigious universities in Europe: KU Leuven (Belgium), Chalmers Tekniska Högskola (Sweden), Université Joseph Fourier Grenoble (France) and Technische Universität Dresden (Germany), in collaboration with 3 leading associated research institutes IMEC in Leuven (Belgium), CEA-LETI in Grenoble (France) and Leibniz Institute for Solid State Materials Research in Dresden (Germany).

Tuition fee and scholarships

The tuition fee for the program is €8000 for non-EER students and €4000 for EER students. A limited number of scholarships and/or tuition fee waivers are available for the best students. For more details visit the EMMNano web page.

Apply for 2015-2017

Admitted are top-level Bachelor students in physics, applied physics, chemistry, biochemistry, electrical engineering, material science or a related discipline, with a proven background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, electronics and electromagnetism, eventually also notions of cell biology and biochemistry.
